Clipper Ship Linocut

I try to continue working even while traveling. In this case, I brought a 4” square lino block, drew it on the plane, carved it while away, and printed it when I returned home.

Tashkeel Opening

Tuesday was a great opening to Plastic at Tashkeel. I met many talented and active artists, spoke with local creatives and journalists, and I’m looking forward to working with the studio more in the future. The exhibition will be open until April 14th.

Plastic at Tashkeel

I’m contributing work to Plastic, an upcoming show at Tashkeel Studio & Gallery in Nad Al Sheba. The group exhibition focuses on the impact of plastics in our environment. The exhibition runs March 4th - April 14th, with an opening reception Tuesday, March 3rd, at 7pm.

About my piece:

Animals in the ocean are not the only ones to have their homes effected by plastic pollution and climate change. In this illustration, we see our coastal lives destroyed by rising sea levels caused by the melting of polar ice caps. As we brace to lose much of our inhabited shoreline this century, we search for protection against the ongoing threat to our coastal infrastructure.

Dubai Typography Map

It was time for a new typography map. Dubai was a bit tricky because without elected officials, there are no clearly defined districts. It took a little research and some asking around from locals, but I think I have a grasp on the Dubai neighborhoods. That is, until new areas and islands get developed — Then I’ll have to update!

The original ink drawing is A2 and color prints are available at A3.
